L'Oréal Paris est fier d'annoncer la quatrième édition annuelle de Lights on Women's Worth, qui continue de mettre en valeur les cinéastes talentueuses de demain.

L’Oréal Paris célèbre les talents féminins.

En 2021, L’Oréal Paris a porté cet engagement à un niveau supérieur, avec la création d’un programme annuel de récompenses dédié aux réalisatrices de courts métrages prometteuses. Le prix tente de créer une voie permettant aux femmes du cinéma de faire progresser leur carrière tout en s'attaquant à la sous-représentation des femmes dans l'industrie. Étonnamment, seulement 17 % des femmes réalisent des films à succès et seulement 25 % jouent des rôles critiques en coulisses.

Elle Fanning annoncera le lauréat 2024 lors d'une cérémonie spéciale de remise des prix lors du dîner Cinéma de Demain qui se tiendra le 24 mai à Cannes, pour célébrer les talents émergents.

L’Oréal Paris a annoncé le troisième lauréat annuel du Prix Lights On Women, choisi parmi la Compétition des Courts Métrages et la sélection de La Cinef à Cannes. La Française Fatima Kaci a remporté la plus haute distinction pour son film de 30 minutes, La Voix des Autres, parmi les 14 courts métrages sélectionnés. Le film raconte l'histoire d'une interprète tunisienne en France traduisant les histoires de réfugiés dont les voix soulèvent des questions sur sa propre identité.
Le choix final a été annoncé en personne par Kate Winslet, porte-parole de L'Oréal Paris et jurée de l'édition 2023, lauréate d'un Oscar, qui a décrit le film comme « un témoignage remarquable de l'empathie sans limites d'une femme pour les autres, qui devient sa plus profonde force émotionnelle. Un court métrage vraiment phénoménal.

Mai Vu

En 2022, Mai Vu, cinéaste de talent originaire du Vietnam, a remporté la plus haute distinction pour son film de 9 minutes, "Spring Roll Dream", qualifié d'"exquis" par la jurée Kate Winslet. Ce film touchant dépeint magnifiquement l’importance de la tradition familiale d’une manière simple mais profonde. La réalisation de Vu fait suite à la première lauréate du prix Lights on Women 2021, Aleksandra Odić d'Allemagne.

La première édition du Prix a été ouverte par une jeune et talentueuse réalisatrice allemande avec son court métrage "Frida". Le film raconte la rencontre entre une jeune infirmière et son patient du même âge.
